220 V · 50 Hz on Type C, Type F, Type M.

Portuguese-influenced wiring: Type C and Schuko F sockets are the norm, with the heavy South African-style Type M also recorded for larger loads, all at 220 V and 50 Hz. European two-pin plugs go straight in; UK and North American visitors need adapters.

The voltage window

A nominal 220 V supply may legitimately sit anywhere between 198 and 242 V (±10%). Dual-voltage gear (marked 100–240 V) shrugs at all of it.
