European-pattern wiring at 220 V, 50 Hz: two-pin Type C sockets are everywhere, with Schuko-style Type F serving earthed appliances. Continental European plugs fit without adapters. British and North American visitors need an adapter, and 120 V devices additionally need to be dual-voltage.

The voltage window

A nominal 220 V supply may legitimately sit anywhere between 198 and 242 V (±10%). Dual-voltage gear (marked 100–240 V) shrugs at all of it.
