British-style Type G is the fixture standard in hotels and newer homes, with two-pin Type C sockets still common for light loads, on a 230 V, 50 Hz supply. A UK adapter plus a europlug covers essentially every outlet on the island.

The voltage window

A nominal 230 V supply may legitimately sit anywhere between 207 and 253 V (±10%). Dual-voltage gear (marked 100–240 V) shrugs at all of it.
