British-pattern Type G dominates hotels and newer buildings, with older Indian-style D and heavy M sockets still in circulation plus some Schuko F, all on a 220 V, 50 Hz supply. Adapters sold for Hong Kong work here as well, which keeps the packing list short.

The voltage window

A nominal 220 V supply may legitimately sit anywhere between 198 and 242 V (±10%). Dual-voltage gear (marked 100–240 V) shrugs at all of it.
