230 V · 50 Hz on Type J, Type C.

Wired like its Swiss neighbour: the flat three-pin hexagonal Type J socket is the standard, and two-pin Type C europlugs fit it directly. The supply is 230 V at 50 Hz. Schuko and French earthed plugs do not seat without an adapter, a common surprise for other Europeans.

The voltage window

A nominal 230 V supply may legitimately sit anywhere between 207 and 253 V (±10%). Dual-voltage gear (marked 100–240 V) shrugs at all of it.
