Australian-pattern wiring: angled flat-blade Type I sockets at 240 V and 50 Hz, the top of the 230 V family. Plugs from Australia and New Zealand fit directly; everyone else needs an adapter, and 120 V appliances need dual-voltage support.

The voltage window

A nominal 240 V supply may legitimately sit anywhere between 216 and 264 V (±10%). Dual-voltage gear (marked 100–240 V) shrugs at all of it.
