Visitors from 230 V countries need an adapter and must confirm their appliances accept 110 V — single-voltage European hair dryers and kettles will disappoint.

The voltage window

A nominal 110 V supply may legitimately sit anywhere between 99 and 121 V (±10%). Dual-voltage gear (marked 100–240 V) shrugs at all of it.
